Middlesbrough Sanctions Protest

Durham Unite Community Branch travelled to Middlesbrough today to support our Teesside comrades outside Middlesbrough Job Centre.

It was a very friendly protest, we gave out stickers and leaflets that gave advice on what to do if you get sanctioned. A number of passers by expressed an interest in joining Unite Community and it was all done to a soundtrack of some fabulous reggae tunes!

There is a further demonstration planned on Saturday 6 December, also in Middlesbrough, starting at the Town Hall at 12 noon. Do come and join us if you can

Sanctions 5 012

Unite Community Plan to stage a nation wide series of protests next year targeting at least 100 towns and cities to defend our welfare state against the cruel and unnecessary attacks by the ConDems.
