Union Learning at Durham Centre

Durham Unite Community have been busy hosting and participating in a learning event at the Miner’s Hall in Durham this week, with both Unite Industrial and Community members training to become Union Learning Representatives.

The course will equip representatives with the skills and knowledge to be an advocate for adult learning, either in their own workplace or the wider local community. As a result of thetraining, a wide range of employers will benefit, including Barclaycard, DHL and Rolls Royce, as well as the disabled and unemployed – proof that adult learning can be of benefit to everyone.

The Durham Unite Community Support Centre hopes to run regular courses in the future, and allow more people from the wider community and the Industrial sectors to take advantage of the excellent range of courses on offer.
