Action to stop the ‘Hospital Closure Clause’

NHS wrecking ball

Following the successful court action to stop the health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, from closing the successful lewisham hospital to bale out another trust crippled by PFI debts, the government is trying to rush through legislation which would allow hospitals to be shut without any proper public and patient consultation.

The Care Bill will have it’s third reading in parliament in the next few weeks, and Clause 119 of it allows for these closures. Unite Community are asking everyone to e-mail their MP to make sure they vote against this clause.

Please go to the unite website for details on how to e-mail your MP.
